Do the seat bottoms have internal threads for use on both sides? That is can they be exhanged by unscrewing them from the frames they're on & fastening them to the other frames?

The seat bottom IS the frame. But yeah, the bottom can be used on either side. They are drilled on both sides for the seat back hinge.
You will just have to cut a hole in the cloth or vinyl.

Tracks will bolt on either way.

Thanks - after 360,000 km, the driver's seat in the '84 is showing a little wear - the passenger's side is perfect. Time to switch.

If you would have switched a long time ago you probably wouldn't have noticed any wear at all. Kind of like rotating tires.

Yeah - I had them out about 10 years ago & then changed my mind in anticipation of the potential irritations that Murphy had waiting for me - broken clip nut on the torx bolt side, no threads in the holes in the seat back lever side, breaking a tap in one of the holes... regular stuff, ha, ha. The passenger side bottom is now on the driver's side - I could use a passenger side bottom - tan with brown stripes & sides instead of the tan only bottom that I ended up putting in. I'm thinking it's more likely I'll find a good passenger side bottom anyway. If Mr. Mike had the original look, I might be tempted to double the value of the car....
