I just got a new steering rack out of a junkyard because my old one was binding and really noisy. I want to make sure this one doesn't go bad as well, so how or is there even a way to lubricate it somehow? Thanks

I just finished refurbing mine. Since it's out of the car already it would be easiest to completely disassemble it, put a new passenger side bushing in and lube the whole thing. I put a couple grease zerks in as well to lube it in the future. You can also reset the pinion torque, just follow the service manual. Mine is now smooth and quiet. I'd recommend at least replacing the bushing. I have 4 steering racks from parts cars and everyone has a bit of play in the bushing. Annoying hearing that knocking when driving.

I replaced the rubber boots on mine after melting one of them while removing the control arm bolts. I had it off the car to change the inner tie rods, so I just gooped a bunch of grease on everything that moved, including the U-joint from the column.
