I might be overthinking this but...

I've seen setups where the 3800SC manifolds has a downpipe going to the right of the muffler and others to the left... Any heat issues on either side? any reason to go one way or the other? I seem to prefer going to the left (driver's side) to keep the belt and alternator area cool.. What do you think? or does it even matter?

I always go toward the driver side like last pic.
further from heating the low alt.

I have the same exhaust set up and muffler. There's no way it would work as well, unless it was mirrored. You can see the inlet to the exhaust system is too far to the left side.



Conclusion, going to the left would mean the exhaust gases would have to travel a father distance.
∴ You build the exhaust going to the right.
