I might be overthinking this but...

I've seen setups where the 3800SC manifolds has a downpipe going to the right of the muffler and others to the left... Any heat issues on either side? any reason to go one way or the other? I seem to prefer going to the left (driver's side) to keep the belt and alternator area cool.. What do you think? or does it even matter?

I always go toward the driver side like last pic.
further from heating the low alt.

Conclusion, going to the left would mean the exhaust gases would have to travel a father distance.
∴ You build the exhaust going to the right.
