How much ground clearance does a Fiero have, specifically under the cradle. Mine has been on jack stands since May, and I'm scratch building the exhaust. The muffler sits a little below the cradle, and I was worried about ground clearance issues. Thanks.

I have a 1987 Fiero, 4 cylinder 5 speed. With an 88 engine.

Depending on the source, there is either 6" or 5.5" clearance at the bottom of the cradle with stock tires and springs. Even the FSM contradicts itself. If the springs haven't been modified or changed since new, then expect the lower end of the scale since they will have sagged somewhat.

Before I restored the suspension on my 87 Fiero SE... I was down to about 2"s in clearance in the front and the side. Thankfully, I lived in South Florida, so it was never really an issue. This was with the original Y99 "Heavy Duty" springs. I just replace them with brand new springs from the Fiero Store that are rated at the same level s WS6, and the car i REALLY high off the ground now... hahaha... something like 6-7"s.

Pretty sure mine was sitting right around 5" or so. Blown suspension, though.
