Picked up a GenV SC and LIM ($100 for both ) from the junkyard from a low mile 2007 GP for my L67 that I'm building, was wondering what pulley do you think I can tune in and be able to run without KR.. My build will have VS cam, 105# crow springs, Northstar TB, headers, 180* stat, blocked supercharger/TB coolant passage.
Also kind of sucks I have to start my polishing all over again atleast I can use that blower on my daily driver.
should be able to pull off a 3.25 with out issues... with the N* you'll need tuned so thats a given! I had 3.25 with headers, rockers, exhaust tstat and plugs no KR.
you stink! I want to get a Gen V but good lord everyone wants 500 around here... I'd love to find one that cheap hell I'd pay 100 for shipping
maybe I should just hit up a yard and peak around see what I can find.... car-parts.com is insane on prices... you didn't see anymore Gen V's did ya

Stupid question.... Why didn't you grab the Series III bottom end too? I assume GM would have made some improvements to the block, rods, crank, etc as opposed to an older Series II?
I don't think you can go 3.25 without an intercooler on a Gen V based on the research I have done. I have a 2007 SC motor as well and am most likely going with a 3.5 to play it safe

Cause I already bought and started the L67 build.... Kind of sucks too cause this engine was already pulled (person just took tranny), I had to do all the hard work removing it with hand tools for mine
I think the L67 bottom end is pretty good from my experience with them.
We built a series III with Northstar TB, 1.9 rockers, headers, SSIC, and a 3.25" pulley. It put out 301.6whp. It ran the 3.4" pulley without the SSIC and had no KR.
You would have to check the data....every 3800 acts a little different to mods.
That's putting it politely. Way back when, I started out running a 3.4" pulley on my 3800SC series III w Gen V supercharger KR's of 2-4* were all over the chart. I tried to tune them out by increasing AE fueling, took total timing down 1 degree from stock etc. . With the smaller pulley, reduced timing 180* stat and a 3" exhaust and running WOT at a super rich 11:2 AFR (on the wideband) KR's were still evident. Added a ZZ SS intercooler, returned the program to more sensible fuelng values of 12:1 at WOT and added back the timing to stock and voila all KR's were gone.

I believe that the SSIC makes all the difference in the world. The 1.9 rockers and headers undoubtedly help too. As for scanning and programming/tuning with the wideband- I see no way around it.
