hi this is my first time on this forum and I was hoping some people could help me out with my 3800sc swap? Im just trying to figure out what exactly is involved so let me give you a brief history of me and the car.. back in march i bought myself a 88' fiero gt automatic as a birthday present for my senior year, i had so much fun with it half because all the girls thought i drove a ferrari haha recently the engine has been dieing on me and the tranny's getting stuck in 1st so i think its time for the infamous l67, so i bought a series 2 off a 97' gtp with the engine/tranny/full wire harness and ecm. Im hoping to make this swap go as fast as possible because im going to ship into the Air Force in a couple months and I want to have as much fun as I can will my baby! so If some people could help me walk through this and tell me what bolt to twist what part to buy, what tube goes where, I would appreciate so much. So I basically after reading all of these build threads, where do I begin after I bought the engine? what are the first few steps

Usually you would strts with getting the old motor out, getting the engine bay prepped, Getting the new motor prepped, cleaned, gaskets, and mounting it on the cradle. You will need to haveyour PCM programmed and build the wiring harness. Remove the 3800's power steerng, reroute the belt....reroute fuel lines and heater hoses, reace the fel pump.....the list goes on, but its not too difficult of a job if yourgood with cars.
thank you so much! where is the best/cheapest place to order motor mounts? right now im in the parts ordering stage and so far i ordered a ac delco ep381 fuel pump, also what gaskets should I replace?

I have used Fierox's mounts and West Coast Fiero's...I prefer FieroX, you can search tha mall onthis forum to see if he has them right now. I have also made my own from the Transport van mounts and they worked well. There is anothermember making his own style now I saw recently too, I think his name is "friendofyours"
I like to replace the lower intake gaskets, valve covers, oil pan, and anything that looks like its been leaking,

This is a nice complete kit that I will be getting. Why re-invent the wheel? The pricing is fair and it looks very beefy. Using half-assed mounts will come back and haunt you later.
Contact Phonedawgz for your wiring harness. Like the others said, refresh the motor with new gaskets before it goes in.
If you are shipping out in a couple of months, you may want to get someone who knows what they are doing to help, since a couple of months can fly by pretty fast by the time you collect all the parts, info, and get it running.
There is a ton of info here on 3800 SC swaps- just use the search function.
thank you for the info, I been looking around a lot but I havent found any details about all the coolant/ cables/ vac lines, etc.. and how the bolt to the fiero? This part is what really stresses me. does anyone know any good reads on how to actually "hook up" the l67 the car? by this i mean what do you do after the cradles bolted on but before you do the wiring harness?

Hey, yes you have to relocate the coil pack I mounted mine on the passenger strut tower next to the battery, you need the Grand Prix tensioner instead of the Bonnie, shift adapter you can get from friendofyours, need axels too mstangsbeware, PCM from sinister performance, wiring from phonedawgz, fiero x mounts, gas lines you can just double up on hose clamps or get stainless braided lines, vacuum lines the 2 ports on the throttle body, 1 goes to brake booster, the other gets T'd and connect both ends to evap canister, don't need EGR, or boost valve. There is a small port under the supercharger for boost pressure, run a line to your FPR and MAP from that. Coolant you can get a modified T-stat from friendofyours. That's about it check out my build thread below I'm almost finished.
awesome thanks you guys. so the supercharger has a bit of play in the pulley some im replacing the coupler. I figure while its apart i should powdercoat and port it. anyone know what kind of tools are used to port the outlet? seems very thick to get that arrow shape into a triangle, any advice on porting is appresiated

Ok been a while but update on project sofi, fierox mounts lined up and mounted so engine is officially on the cradle! Suspension is hooked up with the new poly and i can already sense the headaches from the squeeking haha next step is axles i assume.. i have the stock auto fiero axle still still attached to the wheel hub but the trilobe is too big for the 4t65hd tranny, do i just install the gtp lope at the end and it'll be good to go?

This article is one of the most complete guide to the 3800SC project I have seen, why can it not be added to the build site for all to reference or to be saved for all in the future? It would sure save a lot of people a lot of time searching.
