My Fiero has some Grand Am or Grand Prix wheels on it so I dont know the factory size. The stock GT could only come from the factory with one size tire. Does any one know what that was?
It has both. The one inside the transmission is the "Drive Gear" and is tan, while the one attached to the end of the VSS is the "Driven Gear" which is purple.
Here is the chart and how to use it: First find your tire size, then scan right until you see the code for either the drive gear or the driven gear, depending on which one you want to identify. Then look up the code at the top of the chart to see which color gear corresponds to the code you found below.
There is a little detent on the shaft that is suppose to hold the gear on. It usually just barely hold it on and if you bump the edge of the hole when pulling the VSS out it usually falls off into the transmission. The cheap springy alligator tool is very helpful for retrieving them. Done it many times. I have a four finger one I use all the time. http://www.harborfreight.co...ckup-tool-94162.html
