Any one ever install an inline transmission filter. Just trying to make sure the transmission fluid is clean before it enters back into the transmission. The fluid lines are just 5/16". Will the paper throw away fuel filters work with transmission fluid?

I recall we had to use a different type of filter for 2 cycle fuel as the paper one could stop the oil mixed into the fuel from getting threw.

Here is what I am up against:

I am also having a problem with my new 3 core. I have sent the radiator back for a replacement. Or them to pass judgement that it was my fault for opening the box.

The flux from the welding process was in these threads. This is where the transmission cooler line attach. The flux is also down inside the transmission fluid cooler part of the side tank. Look in the bottom of the hole with out the threads in the first picture:

Its only a tube passing thru the bottom of the radiator. You can easily just flush it out before installing it with a garden hose and an air compressor. You dont need an inline filter, theres already a pretty good sized filter in the transmission pan already.

I shot it with brake cleaner and compressed air. There is still some of the 'JUNK' still inside where I can't get to it. I am a bit condserned about some of it getting into my transmission's interior.

I think they make trans filter.... not sure

Gas filter won't work. Oil is too think for a start...

I think cool oil is just dumped into the pan.

Oil to Cooling is bypass oil and has little/no pressure. Anything that will restrict flow can mess line pressure (system working pressure) and causing other problems.

Brake cleaner etc is good because it will evaporate fast. Water might not dry out in a hurry...

Looks like I'm a day late but ,, Yes, inline trans filters are available. Jeep Grand Cherokees have them as standard, at least 04's do.

And I installed one during my Fiero power steering modd which has a magnet in it. Got it at NAPA.
