1986 - the headlights would not go up or down at all, replaced the isolator relay. Then it only put the drivers side up and down. checked the pass side relay it was good. so, it's the motor...NOT. i tested all the parts of the motor assembly with a ohm meter, the "Glass whatever it is" was bad. So, I had a few old motors laying around that also didn't work. found one with a good "Glass whatever it is" ! (BUT, No Brushes ! ). I tried that one "with no brushes" after sanding off the epoxy that used to hold the brushes on. worked like a charm. SO... Now, does anyone actually Sell that part with the points, "glass whatever it is", & wires ???? OR, what kind of "epoxy" can be used to re-attach the brushes that fell off ? I take it must be some kind of epoxy that Conducts Electricity ??

I believe it's call the 'thermal switch'. Not sure if it can be purchased anywhere, but sure would like to have a couple of them around just in case!

Lou, I've been working to try to repair the limiter switches and it appears the original brushes were spot welded onto their mounts. It might be possible to solder new brushes in place if they were of the right composition.
