The decklid struts I ordered a couple years ago was for a GT decklid with the torsion bars. I found out upon installing the SC3 that the torsion bars needed to be removed, so the current struts dont have enough 'oompf' to them. Is there a part number for replacement struts i can get from the auto part stores or are these RD specific? Thanks for the help!

I believe Rodney takes a set of "off the shelf" struts and cuts the rod to the correct length, then threads them to fit his pivot system. So an off the shelf strut probably won't fit - check if the end threads into the machined stainless pivot. I thought I'd make my own; the struts I used need to be compressed a few inches to install them, and it's REALLY hard to do without slipping and bleeding in the process. Also the ball studs I used stick out way farther than Rodney's setup, and rub the vents..

I believe Rodney will sell you just the replacement struts if needed.. Yep - http://rodneydickman.com/ca...h=23&products_id=232

I attached a standard strut to the rear mounting bolt on the hinge. I fabricated a bracket which hooks on to the wheel strut tower bolt and has a stabilizer heavy screw in as well. It required a custom bracket at the body, but it works just fine. It is a garden variety strut. I would just measure the length you need and make a visit to your supplier, or order one from Rodney.

Mine doesn't lift the deck lid right away when I release due to the heavy nature of my deck lid with a Sundance spoiler, Mopar scoop, and shrouded fan assembly, but goes up and stays up when I want it to.
