Had my Sprint Exhaust Manifolds (Fiero Store) and heat coated Y-pipe installed a couple weeks ago and the car's been running fantastic. Unfortunately, My charging system started screwing up. While driving the volts light would flicker (brightness depending on how much gas I gave it). I got it home and I had a loose positive batt. connection at that C-500 area. I cleaned it up, and put it all back together. I started it and it ran great in Park... Soon as I put it in drive or reverse it stalls. Runs great in Park and Neutral. The Volts gauge is where it supposed to be with no volts light.

This sounds like a TCC solenooid issue to me... Any other opinions?? It's an '88 GT with the TH125 auto.

Unplug the TCC plug on the tranny and see what it does.

OK, I unplugged it and put in gear and it did not stall. I have a new lockup solenoid That I bought a while ago still in the packaging. I ordered a new pressure switch and Gasket and I'll do the job on my next day off.

Thanks for the input.

BTW, I have to drive the car to my folks house because I live in a condo and can't work on it in the parking lot (common area crap). Should I leave the TCC solenoid unplugged? I'm guessing if I plug it back in and drive it, it'll stall the first time I have to come to a stop.

You can leave it unplugged until the repair. Your MPG will drop. Had mine unplugged for a month before taking the time to swap it out.
