Can a 4 speed transmission on an 86 be converted to a 5 speed Getrag
transmission? if so what is needed?

Yes it can.

You'll need the Transmission, slave cylinder, shift cables & shifter from a donor Fiero.

You will need to change the wiring for the reverse lights. On the 4 speed the switch is on the shifter, on the 5 speed it's on the tranny. Late model '86s had wiring for both 4 and 5 speeds, but earlier they didn't. I have an '85 so I had to run wires from the transmission to the C500.
