Rears are always metal, fronts could be either, only way to tell for sure is to take them off.

is there a difference? and also when i go to take off caliper there is usually 2 bolts that hold in in place. I cant find either of them? there is rubber around where they usually are? only bold i can seem to find is in the cent of the back of the caliper. And its front that im looking for too.

The caliper bolts are in the two big rubber boots on opposite sides of the caliper, the star-headed bolts (torx) you can see here. Originally these were T50 torx head

I prefer metal pistons, they seem to last longer. I've only bought front pads once, and they didn't ask if they were metal or phenolic? In fact not sure which ones I got when I replaced the calipers, I should check...
