How much (if any) will adding "Coil overs" change the "Ride Quality" ? any benefit or down fall other than "Gaining room" for bigger Tires ? 1985 fiero
The physical configuration of the coilover doesn't affect ride quality at all... only the spring rates and shock valving affect ride quality. Provided you choose a strut with the same valving as you already have (or if you modify the ones you currently have), and choose a spring rate that's comparable to what you're using right now, then you won't feel any difference. Coilover springs are available in 50 lb/in increments from places like HT so you shouldn't have much problem matching the spring rates as long as you know what's currently on your car.
