I just got the car and my shop manual has not arrived yet. I have looked it over and for the life of me I can not located the fuel filter. Where the heck is it and is it hard to replace? Keep in mind I am 71 and some times not to smart. Thanks for your help.
Mike

It's attached to the lower side of the firewall, towards the passenger side of the car, "behind" where the gas tank is situated. To find it, you have to jack the rear of the car up, slide under neath it (I go in through the passenger side in front of the rear wheel), look up, and you will see the filter and accompanying fuel lines attached to the chassis.

Make sure you reduce the residual fuel pressure before you loosen the fuel filter connections while you're lying under there!

I usually pull the fuel pump fuse while the engine is idling to reduce the pressure. Gas will still leak out after doing this, but at least it won't be spraying out.

I jacked up the right side and there it was in plain site and looks easy to get to. Thanks for the advice on fuel pressure, I did know that but thanks for a COMPLETE answer.
