Oil pan gasket has developed a leak Looks like FUN to replace, too!

Question is, to gasket, or not to gasket? Looking at the (apparently two) gaskets available, they come in four pieces: rubber ends, and cork sides.

The cork valve cover gaskets are crap, so I'm not crazy about using some on the pan, which is significantly more difficult to replace. What should I do? Use all silicone (Permatex Right Stuff), use silicone in place of the cork and use the rubber with silicone on them, silicone on both faces of all four gaskets with extra in the corners where the seams are?

Forget the gasket. Fiero Dukes didn't use pan gaskets, it was all RTV. I prefer to use the Permatex Ultra Silver RTV, works great. Make sure you put a generous bead along the oil pan to timing cover mating surfaces.

Yup, I used RTV.... They have some that sets up quick, but if you get the standard stuff, let it sit a day before running. Otherwise, they have some that you can run immediately after installing.
