Copying this from clubgp since I got 150 views and no replies yet...

BTW.... IT'S ALIVE! (will post a separate thread later with a couple pics)

I am trying to get an L67 up and running with the F40 6 speed. Anyone who researched this swap should realize the oil filter adapter and passenger side CV / intermediate shaft interfere with each other.

Ebay currently has this adapter, listed as a 2002 Grand Prix GM # 12563771

My search for 12563771 has turned up useless. Was this adapter used on any other vehicles? The guy jacked shipping up to $23 which I find a bit steep for such a part...

I currently have a remote oil filter twist-on plate with the stock adapter (that has the filter vertical next to the crank, above the frame / engine cradle). I have some clearance, but since I can't weld aluminum, I can't take the grinder much further.

I'm not quite comfortable with the clearance I have now, and if I'm looking at that "2002 GP" adapter correctly, it'll move straight down and angle towards the oil pan. If that's the case, I'll have all the room in the world for my remote filter... or ditch the remote and twist on a stock filter.

The only similar option I've seen I also cannot find:

"This adapter can be found on 85-87 N-body (Grand Am) cars on the 3.0L 90 degree V6 engine." from http://www.gmtuners.com/swap/3800.htm

I think that oil filter adapter needs to be used with the aluminum oil pan. You can see it here:

Not the same part number, but it does have the same twist. I'm using the Grand Prix adapter with a remote oil filter adapter, and it seems to have plenty of clearance:

(There is about 1/8" between the boot and the adapter, but the control arm is jacked up pretty high). Another part you may consider is the Camaro adapter. It sticks out horizontally, and there is no way it'll interfere with the axle.

My project: 3800 Series III Supercharged + F40 6-speed into an 87 GT. Wish me luck!

I have the adapter that kicks down and back along with the aluminum oil pan that goes with it if you're interested. I couldn't use it on my swap. #12569516. It's off of a 2001 Park Ave.

Excellent pictures raccoons! Thank you. What axles are you using? I'm using the G6 Intermediate shaft and G6 inner joints (archie kit)... they appear slightly larger than yours. The bottom right adapter bolt needed ground down slightly as the metal part of the CV just barely rubbed it. I'm wondering if I could keep the steel pan and use the downward adapter with my current twist-on remote...

slicknick - i might be interested. Moving 45 miles for a new job tomorrow so the Fiero is getting towed in the mean time ran into decklid clearance issues today when I was about to drive it to get it aligned. Pretty much need to ditch the torsion bars at this point... Also having speedometer issues I'm going to have too look into more (HP Tuners noob here. Uploaded calibration only with the VSS at 60000 pulse/mile but the speedometer still tweaks out. I suspect a rewire is needed...)

I took it around the block with the decklid off, and there didn't appear to be any rubbing on the CV boot... so we'll see
