been trying to get my trunk light to work but can not find the switch. is there a truck ajar switch? and if so, where is it

The location depends on the year of the car. From '84 to about mid '86 the trunk ajar switch was on the firewall between the rear trunk and the engine bay, next to the driver's strut tower.



On the mid '86 and later, it's on the half of the trunk latch that attached to the decklid.

Note that on the early models (pin switch located near the cruise control servo) the pin switch has two sets of leads and contacts. It operates both the trunk light and the trunk ajar warning light. The internal contacts can be cleaned, they usually show some corrosion which makes them work sometimes and not work sometimes.
