I just started up my '87 GT 5-speed for the first time after a month or so sitting while I replaced the head gaskets. I drove it around the block, and it shifted fairly well, not perfect.
After pulling into the driveway and doing a few things before moving the car again, it will not go into first gear. I can get into second, and reverse, and maybe others, but near impossible to get into first.
I tried bleeding at the Slave cylinder, and got a lot of air out with some fluid. Finally lost all pedel pressure, and no more fluid will pump outto complete bleeding.
At this point I am not sure if it is the Slave or Master cylinder that is bad. I think it is most likely the Slave, ad I can hear a small amount of movement at the rear of the car when the pedel is push to the floor. But not absolutely sure.
Any good ideas to determine of Slave or Master cylinder is the bad unit?
Thanks for any help.
