Hello again.... Well I swapped PCM's in hope of a little more power. I bought a performance PCM from ZZPerformance. Car seems a little more powerful, but there's a problem.. With this PCM the car won't pass 2nd gear. WTH!! I specified the engine year and for Fiero which cost's an extra $40.... Do you think I got a bad PCM? They do modifiy the shifting so maybe they messed up? I hope they will exchange it, or fix it..

Why did you go with ZZP? There are several on the Forum that would have tuned you a PCM for cheaper that would work with no issues. If your old PCM works then it has to be something in the tune. Swap it back in and see what happens. If it is the PCM ask for your money back and contact Nosrac on there for a tune....

It is the PCM. I put back the other and it shifts fine.... The previous owner just said he didn't think he had it programmed for performance so I thought the ZZP would net more power.... Looks like they're going to have to reflash it for me.

I have Re-done a couple swaps tha had ZZP tuned PCM, neither of them wold run correctly untill I sent the PCM to Ryan for reprogramming. I dont think ZZP is framiliar enough with what needs done to operate in the Fiero, you are better off using someone from this forum who knows Fieros.

Just checked over my PCM harness and these circuits are not wired: Clear # 17- Transmission fluid pressure switch C 21- performance shift 57- Transmission fluid pressure switch B
Blue 22- Tran fluid press sw A input
Is this out of the ordinary??
Sucks I just blew $240 for nothing!!

Those should be wired...was yor harness built to match a stock PCM out of something other then a GTP ?
I don't know who built the harness or did the original PCM for the swap. The engine and tranny are out of an '03 bonn SSEI the PCM has writing that says- 03GTP Fiero

Since your original PCM is working I would assume those "missing" connections are in different locations on the original PCM then the ZZP programmed one. You might be able to find what your original PCM is from by Googling the service number....you may need to rearrange wires on the connectors.

The missing wires aren't even in the harness going to the ECU. The original ECU says '03 and the ECU from ZZP was for '03 as well.
There is nothing plugged into the tranny here:

Looking at he wiring for a 2003 PCM like yurs says it is, these should not be wired. My bet is ZZP gave you a 98-2002 program which wouldneed those. Sounds like you will have to rewire your harness to match or have ZZP re-program to 2003 specs

Hmmm. I thought they would still be the same.. Same engine. On their options for PCM's it lists '97-'03 So I was thinking they would be the same. I don't really wan't to mess with the wiring for their mistake. Do you think that is causing the shifting issue then?

yes 03+ transmissions have a different fluid pressure manifold and have an internal range switch...i dont know why you have an external range switch if you have an 03 pcm and transmission. but i agree with mike sounds like they gave you the wrong year and dont know what needs done for a fiero swap... is there a service number on the zzp pcm.. 03+ cars with the newer transmission can only take a 9624 pcm, thats the last 4 digits
03 trans also did not have performance shift option

My other PCM is the 9624 I should ask them to fix this shouldn't I? That's a pretty dumb mistake to be made if youre in the performance 3800 business right?

I would, its thier fault in a way because they done differentiate between the years correctly.

I'm just happy with all of the help everyone provides on this forum. Now they can't tell me it's a wiring issue or something when the ecu is for the wrong year.
Thankyou Everybody!!!

HOLY ****....Tell them there tune did not work and you would like a refund....$240 for a tune is a crime......ZZP should be slapped for asking that much but then again people pay that amount all the time withou thinking...Get a refund and always come here to ask questions first...
wow i cant believe they made that mistake,, dont let them try to tell you that they can program a 1735 pcm for an 03 it cannot be done since the internal hardware is different.. well it will take the file just wont operate correctly.. so they may have flashed an 03 file to it but used the wrong service number so it has the wrong hardware.. could have adverse effects.... such as no shitfing, ses light, no run ,etc

I'm afraid they'll try to feed me that BS too. It's obviously not working since it won't shift past 2nd gear so they better not argue about it. We'll see when I call Monday.. Thanks for the info.

Def will for sure. The Fiero community here is Awesome! The BEST Forum by far!!
I've heard that they don't answer their phones. If you can get through you will need to email them. I would defiantly push for a refund and send your pcm to someone on this forum.

Can someone on this forum make the changes for better shifting and KR mods and all that though..... I would just like to get my money back. I think it's rediculous they sent the wrong yr PCM. Kinda makes me wonder if they even know how to flash it properly.... I sent an email, so hopefully I'll hear back Monday.
