Ok this isn't my first fiero so it isn't the first time replacing dew wipes. This is the first fiero I have had with manual windows and the dew wipes are a mother. All the tips I read are on cars with PWR windows any tips on removing the old ones with MANUAL windows. Yes it is the one mother of a screw that is killing me.

Do you have Rodney's special tool? The world's shortest screwdriver?

I made one. I drilled a hole in some 1/4" aluminum bar stock and hammered in a #2 Phillips bit and ground off the excess on the back. Its less than 1/2" thick. Ive seen people make them by welding a bit to a steel piece of stock.

I don't have Rodney's tool. Sounds bad when you say it like that.

brake them off. Yes, remove all the easy ones first, then flex the ends back and forth until the thin steal brakes off the last two screws. once the dew wipes are off, the other two screws come right out (using Rodney's special tool). Make sure to use the 7mm hex screws when your putting them back in. You can use a 7mm wrench to do the install. THen if you ever have to do it again, the two tuff ones will be easy.

Cut the dew wipe 3 inches on both side of the screw , since they are welded together by rust use them as a wing nut .
Worked good for me .

Cheap trick till you get around to changing the outer dews. Take some black electrical tape and run a piece the length of the outside edge of the outer dew wipe then just fold it over.. Lol. It will get you by for awhile and clean up that gross looking dew wipe.

I bought the tool last night. Thanks everyone for the offer to send me theirs.

I have done this a few times before without the tool but it seems the window does not go as high up with manual windows.

Use a big flat screwdriver as a wedge between the tool and the glass. You can get some force on the phillips that way.

That's a REAL good way to break the glass!
I never noticed a difference between the manual & electric dew wipes...
