The Haynes Repair Manual says the Cylinder Head Bolt Torque spec is 65 to 90 Ft-lbs. for 1986 and 1987.

That seems to be a big torque range. Do they mean sequence step it up from 65 to 90?

Does anyone have a better spec than given in Haynes?

Thanks for the help

The Haynes manual is pretty vague on that. But yes, it's a multi-stage sequence. You're supposed to do it in 3 stages, starting at 65 ft-lb and ending up at 90 ft-lb. So I guess the second stage would be halfway between the two (i.e. 77-78 ft-lb).
