i have my dash apart and am doing a v8 archie swap later on. does anybody have good info or good close up pics on replacing the resistor with a variable pot type resistor?

Your best bet for an accurately recalibrated tach for you swap is Forum member JGunsett.

He does a great job, you get a spreadsheet showing the calibration accuracy and he is very reasonable.
