I need to know which tubes in the th125 are the fluid "in" and fluid "out"
and the same with the tubes on the automatic transmission oil cooler.
I also need to know which is what, where the hoses connect from the transmission to the oil cooler lines.

I dont think its that important because its just a feed to the cooler, but I am thinking of different ways the trans fluid would logically flow.

Im thinking the "fluid out" hooks up to the cooler line that runs to the top of the trans cooler, and as it cools it would sink and then flow back to the transmission "fluid in"

just a thought, I dont think it really matters, I am just ocd like that. =D

Well... it kind of matters when dealing with 25 year old used parts... if there is any sediment or loose stuff in the cooler and you run it backwards, you could back flush that stuff back in to the tranny.

I vaguely remember it being the output from the tranny going to the bottom of the cooler. That would allow a check valve to hold fluid in there when the engine is off so flow resumes immediately.

Trying to find a diagram, I know there is one somewhere here.

Like already mentioned, if your trans is clean inside and no built up residue, it dont make any difference which way it flows. Its just a tube thru the radiator coolant that absorbs some of the heat.

okay, but I still would need to know which tube coming out of the transmission is the fluid "out" and "in"

the transmission I have I know is clean inside, but the car i put it in had a blown transmission where only brake fluid was used
I already blew out whatever was left in the cooler.

I want the transmission to feed to the top line of the cooler and have the bottom return to the transmission.

but if what above is correct about a check ball inside to keep fluid in the cooler. I would then need to hook up the output to the bottom cooler line. and vice versa.

Disconnect one line then shove a small piece of paper towel or even a Q tip into each end ,start it up and immediately shut it down. The towel/Q tip will pop out of the pressure side

There is no check ball in the transmission fluid line. It really makes no difference how you hook it up.

What I would do is hook the lines up in the manner that makes the connections the 'cleanest' so they aren't looping over each other.
