What size bolts do I need to attach a 2.8 to an engine stand.
I bought a 2.8 engine to put in my gt and want to put it on an engine stand to while I clean up the value covers and intake. It did not come with the
bolts that attach engine to tranny.

Thank You

Welcome to the forum. The bolt diameter and thread pitch respectively are: M12 X 1.75. You'll have to measure your specific engine stand mounts to determine what length to buy. Bolt lengths are measured starting under the head of the bolt and are in mm's.

A trick that we use here is to buy a 3' length of M12 x 1.75 threaded rod. Cut it to bolt size length for your engine stand and secure them with a washer and a nut.

So would the threaded rod's strenght be ok to keep an engine on the stand for an extended period of time?

Thank You

Perfectly fine for the engine stand. Just don't ever consider using it to keep the engine and transmission together unless it's metric grade 9.8 or 10.9.
