Hey guys so ive done my research but I still need a few things answered so I'm gonna put it all in one place here. When I turn my car on and run it for a while the oil pressure gauge is bouncing around all over the place. I know this is a symptom of a bad oil pressure sender. Problem is i dont have enough money to order a new one for $65 or however much it is on fierostore. My question is does the oil pressure sending unit affect the performance of a car at all other than affecting the oil pressure gauge? so far i havent had any noticeable problems with oil. Next thing, my temperature gauge usually runs at a steady 190 degrees F at its hottest. after i replaced the radiator a couple months back the temp gauge has been steadily climbing from about 160 to 190 and then gradually going back down to 160 again, it always does this. I did not get a flush and fill when i replaced the radiator, so i was wondering if potentially having air pockets in the cooling system would make the temperature gauge climb and fall steadily like that. is a flush and fill even necessary? Also with my temp gauge, whether it is accurate or not is kinda irrelevant but recently when my car is sitting at an idle at a stop light or something, once in a long while my temperature gauge starts slowly climbing to 220 and i think the hottest its went up is 230. when i start driving again it goes back to 190 or lower. Also at idle, my oil pressure gauge drops to right before the red zone and flutters there until i start driving again and it goes back up to between 40 and 80 (still fluttering). Will a new oil pressure sender fix this or am I having legitimate oil problems? Last thing, i need to know if i'm having electrical problems. It has poured rain and been freezing cold for the past two days or so and my car sits outside. a little background, my radiator fan switch does not work so i manually turn it on with the a/c switch. recently when i have gone to turn on the ac/heat my dash lights flicker and my idle bounces and my temperature gauge rises to a little over 220 immediately and keeps going. i have turned the heat off again before letting it go too far as i want to make sure nothing serious actually happens. Is this the engine actually overheating a little or is it just an electrical glitch? sorry for the long post, im just driving 200 miles tomorrow and am a little worried. the car still runs fine, no problems or nething, i just want to iron out these kinks. Thank you very much.

All these things you are talking about are not 'serious' in the sense that they will stop your car, but they are the early indicators of trouble, and if they don't work correctly, the next thing that goes wrong will be unnoticed until they really mess things up. So it is important to keep these items working.

1. Oil pressure sender. These things have been known to cause fires. It may be the source of your electrical glitches....It would be a good idea to get another one......check the mall.

2. Coolant Temp. It sounds to me as though you have a thermostat that is working properly. There may also be some air in the system. You can do a search on 'burping' a fiero, and find lots of advice.

3. "just and electrical glitch" is an electrical malfunction that could stop your car. Its likely that there is a loose ground wire someplace. Check the negative battery cable.

1 - The oil pressure gauge sender affects nothing but the reading on the dash gauge

2 - Temp gauge fluctuation are nothing to worry about. It would not hurt to check the coolant overflow level, and the coolant level at the thermostat housing.

3 - Yes your oil pressure will drop when the oil is hot and you are idling. Not a worry as long as the pressure stays out of the red.

4 - My radiator fan won't turn on unless I am idling for a long time on a hot day in the summer, If your car is moving your radiator fan won't come on. That is normal.

5 - The radiator fan should come on about 235 degrees.
