On my harness there is a smaller sub- harness to the coil pack.
on it is one side to main harness, other side to coil pack, one ground, then 2 other connectors. What do they go to?

Two wire connector? V6? maybe tach filter connector?
If an 86 maybe the extra reverse light switch for the transmission?

It was a 4cyl 88
now a sc3800
I found it to be the crank sensor and cam shaft

Crank sensor and cam sensor. Crank sensor is on the front side of the crank right behind the balancer. Cam sensor is on the rear side of the cam area - right above the balancer.

You had an engine swapped car and didn't think what year/type of car or type of engine was important enough information to include in your question?
