This just started happening a few days ago, and no changes have been made to my car.

1985 Fiero

When I push the power lock/unlock buttons inside the car (on either door) the lock actuators inside the doors do not move, but the relay behind the passenger side of the dash clicks like normal.

Does anyone have experience with this problem?

It's not sticky door locks, because just the other day they were both working fine.

Thanks!

If it truely is an electrical issue and not a mechanical binding problem, then here's what I would do:

There are two different power sources for relay:

1. the CTSY/LID Fuse makes the relay click (energizes the coil); and
2. direct battery power through the PWR ACC Circuit Breaker (C/B) supplies the unlocking and locking power to the motors in the doors

Since the relays are clicking, you can be pretty sure the ground and power circuits for the first circuit are working just fine. That leaves the ground and power circuits for the second circuit, but since the circuit breaker shares the same ground path as the relay coil, you can be sure that the ground circuit is fine, leaving only the power delivery side of the PWR ACC Circuit Breaker (C/B) circuit as the problem.

Flip down your fuse panel (squeeze the two tabs that hang down together and rotate it downwards) and locate the PWR ACC C/B:

Notice that the Power Windows C/B just above is exactly the same... swap them over to see if the circuit breaker is the problem. If not, post back here and I or someone else can help further troubleshoot the problem.

Thanks 85sliverGT! Like most people here, I enjoy trying to help out. (BTW... did you really intend your screen name to be "sliver" and not "silver"? Slivers hurt... especially fiberglass and metal ones)

(Haha I'm impressed! I've seen my s/n typed by others and everyone see's silver, not sliver. We used to call my fiero-at-the-time the silver sliver so I just played the name off that. I will be the first to admit it was a stupid choice, had I known i would be spending so much time on PFF I would have chose something better)

End of high jack! Sorry!

Bloozberry, you are a tech-help god! Thank you for your advice and helping me understand how the system worked. My problem was simple: the one circuit breaker needed to be replaced.

Everything works great again!
Thank you
