I pulled my dome light off today in order to replace it with another one that isn't warped. Anyways, all 4 lights were working in the old one but after connecting the new one I noticed the INNER two lights did not work. As you may know, the inner two lights are controlled by the headlight thumbwheel switch. So, I put the old dome light back in and it has the same problem! I then checked all the fuses under the dash but they are all ok. And before you ask, I made sure the dome light was grounded when checking everything and I made sure the thumbwheel was FULLY clicked "ON" at the top of it's range.

Is there something I'm missing? Any helpful hints? I believe my headlight switch is only 3K miles old. Is there a test I can do with an ohmmeter to check if the thumbwheel switch is ok?

Dome light?

Several versions of dome lights. Which one? 4 bulbs work differently on each version.

Does light work when either door is open?

Recheck ground
Check fuses
Orange wire should get 12+v
White wire go to ground went any switch are active.
Ground and switch(es)on dome light assembly depend on version of dome light.

Switch on dome light can be a problem... Check to see if any/all switches make contact.

I know there are a few differences between the regular 4 bulber dome light and the Performance Sound dome light.
I thought these were the only two types.
Will double check all that you said to check sometime tonight.
