Theoretically it could, but it would not be noticeable. The speed density airflow measurement system on the Fiero uses the manifold air pressure (MAP) and the intake air temperature (IAT) to calculate the amount of airflow into the engine. It's a fast and imperfect calculation though, since the pressure and temperature of the air throughout the intake tract changes as it travels to the cylinders. A leak in the cold air intake tube, even though it would be picking up higher temperature air downstream of the IAT, wouldn't hurt performance enough to feel it IMHO.

I think you're mixing up your terminology because the cold start injection system is a fuel system, not an air system. If it's leaking, you definitely have a problem because the tubing holds pressurized fuel whenever the key is in RUN. That means it'll spray raw fuel into the engine bay from any leak. I'm pretty sure that's not what you meant. Maybe you should post a picture to help me (and anybody else) get a better understanding of where your leak is.

Im going to answer my own question with a yes it does.

@ blooze. What im talking about is that L bent tube that runs from the bottom of the Throttle to the the lower plunum (no idea how to spell it). I might be mistaken in thinking it was for the cold start injector... when it might not be. All i know is it delivers air. I had a huge leak their and it was causing all type of problems for my car. My revs were really high and messing with my timing. All fixed now though.

Absolutely. As you found out, it's just like any other vacuum leak.
