Would anyone know how to strengthen or tighten the chassis to make it stronger?? Also, for those of you who know about ecotec swaps, can we use a cobalt tranny?? in our fiero's? or do we just bolt them to the existing tranny?

In the Ecotec swap, you use the Cobalt transmission, the F23. It is a better transmission than the originals.

The Ecotec bell pattern is different from the Metric pattern used in the Fiero. You'll need either an adapter plate, or a trans that came bolted to an Ecotec.

Depending on which engine you're using, you probably will want to get the trans that came bolted to it.

What do you mean by "tightening the chassis"?

What part of the chassis do you feel needs to be strengthened?

the fiero chassis is more than strong enough for just about any swap .with the ecotec's lighter weight , it is not a concern .the f23 is the best tranny and thats what you get with a 2.2 cobalt .fiero axles fit right in to the f23 .the cobalt ss f35 tranny needs you to use the cobalt axles that it came with as it has a jackshaft setup .
