you talking about the rear or the front?
i think the rear is the same type as the body pannels??
the front hood is different. has like a fiberglass stuff in it.

SMC is like fiberglass, but pressed with a mold on both sides....it is a polyester resin, so it does not melt. It will burn, however, and it will deform, so depending on what you are doing at 360 degrees you could damage the part. Are you thinking of removing paint with a heat gun?

(just a guess)

The front hood, headlight covers, both roof sections, & the rear decklid are all SMC fiberglass. It won't melt it will burn (at least the resin will burn out of it & leave the glass fibers).
If you would tell us what you have in mind, we might could help.

Paul is right. The SMC in the hood will not melt. Depending on the temperature, it could turn yellow (moderately hot), or brown (hotter), or start to blacken and char (really hot). But it will not melt. And heating it to bend it will not work very well.

sure....cut away!

Are you going to use the hood pieces like a mold and drape hot lexan over the top? That should be fine if you get a smooth suface on the SMC.
