Jetman, in a recent post by BamBam you replied:

Following this post, BamBam responded with a couple pictures of manifold gaskets. He said that he purchased the part number you recommended, but the picture he included did not appear to have steel rings around the exhaust ports (they looked to be perforated gaskets, no steel ring). I am in the process of replacing one of my exhaust manifold gaskets (front). Today I purcahsed a the Fel Pro set you listed in the quote above, but they came in a sealed box. I cannot see the gaskets unless I open the box, and if I do that I cannot return them. Do you know if the Fel Pro MS 93045 have the metal rings around the exhaust ports?

Thank you!

Yes, the 93045 does have the metal rings.

My ears were burning for the last half year, now I know why.

You know, good gaskets are one thing, assembling everything without cutting corners is a key aspect. I made sure that the manifold mounting surfaces were true, flat sanded, took my time, torqued everything evenly, checked a couple weeks later, all basic stuff here. I love those studs, sure makes a swap later down the road so much easier, a breeze actually.

I was just asking about exhaust mainfolds in another thread. I'll be needing new gaskets soon, myself. I was planning to get the ones from The Fiero Store along with their stud and nut kit. How do the gaskets mentioned above compare to the TFS ones?

After waiting a couple days with no response I opened the box because I wanted to complete the repair. The Fel Pro MS 93045 do have the metal rings around the ports.

I also purchased two sets of ARP 761-1002 bolts for the exhaust manifolds. Those are ARP stainless M8x1.25x25 with hex head bolts. They were a bit pricey costing $44 for ten of them. But they will never rust, so I don't have to worry that at some point in the future I might break a head off one if I want to remove them. Of course I completely coated the threads of the bolts with anti sieze, as anytime you use stainless fasteners on an engine you better put anti sieze on them.
