I wanted to maybe get some ideas of what to check.
I noticed when driving my 88 GT yesterday that when I would come to a stop it had a real quick sort of vibration like a pad was sticking or something.
It doesn`t do it when I first brake, it just does it right before it stops, when it`s barely rolling.
It doesn`t pulse like a warped rotor, it`s just a real quick shudder.

Oh, I didn`t say it has crossed drilled rotors.

Check caliper bolts, the ones that hold it to the knuckle! Had one come out on my 88 (kid driving), thankfully only going slowly and the car just came to a sudden stop as the caliper rotated into the rim. Could have been nasty as speed. It wrecked the caliper too as it broke the casting!

My 87 was doing something similar and I pulled it apart to check.

One of the brass sliders around the mounting bolt was stuck in the caliper housing (jammed).

Was in there so tight I had to pound it out with a hammer.

Sanded it down a bit and re-greased it so it moved freely. Vibration went away.

I will check all of these.
As mentioned above and Tom Slick also said to check the slider pins as if one is sticky it wouldn`t let the caliper center, which makes sense as to why it would shudder.
Thanks, everybody for the replies.

I drove my car this morning and it braked fine.
Very smooth with no shudder at all.
The only difference is this morning it`s like low 80 degrees and the other day it was 100.
Now, I am looking at other things that might have made it do that.
It was really hard to tell if it was coming from the front.
What does it feel like when the TCC fails to release and does it always stall the car at low speeds?
I guess if it does it again I need to check it then, because as I said it didn`t do it this morning.

Yea, I remember you saying about replacing those Tom.
I drove it today, and it didn`t do it again even in the heat, so I`m not going to worry about it unless it happens again.
Thanks, Mike
