On the 3800 dipstick it has Full then 5 holes the at the bottom says add one quart. So if the oil level is right in the middle in the third hole does that mean its fine or does it mean theres only 3 quarts in it and i need to add two? The ' add one quart ' at the bottom is confusing me.

Sorry, but I can't help you. I do have a question for you though, do you have pictures showing how you mounted the grille in the mouth of you front fascia?

Whenever I change the oil in my GTP I add up to that top line saying "full." The add one more quart at the bottom of the dipstick means just that, add one more quart of oil. If you are at the middle hole you should be OK. The engine calls for 4.5 quarts of oil and will bring the level right up to that top line.

ALL DIPSTICKS will have a "range" the five holes are the "range" THE RANGE IS ALWAYS 1qt from the bottom to the top. the L67 engine takes 4.5 to 4.7 qts. of oil if you are using the shorter filter. ac delco PF47, the longer filter may or may not fit you would have to check the PF 52 is the longer one .
edit: i have never seen a vehicle where the dipstick range covers any different than 1qt. except on off road equipment, ie:mowers,4x4s, tillers...

Ok thanks. Have a oil leak and don't want to over fill it. it's at the third dot so it needs half a quart not two. You can see the confusion.
