1896 gt 2.8 with a 4t60 trans. It was running bad about a two months ago so I decided it was time to remove the intake and take a poke around. It also had a wire harness that had been spliced in many places so a new harness was also put on. It ran like a top! Then a month ago it started running like crap. It would buck and stall intermittently. So, it got parked until today. I got it up to temp and threw a scanner on it and got the following results.
.
Codes:
21,34,33
With engine readings.
Block learn 124
TPS (v) 4.14 (isn't norm around .25 to 1.25? could it just be a TPS?)
IAC POS 40
O2 crossout's 2/ changes
A/F learned :NO
Spark adv: 52
Basw PW: 1.5
MAT: 43C
MAP KPA: 34
MAP (v) 1.38
..............................
I really doubt its a vac leak......

TPS is way off, you're right 1.25 is the norm for zero throttle. Got another one you can swap?

There is another one around here somewhere. All these were done at idle. I shall go dig around.

I've also found a few situations where the TPS gets stuck in a position for one reason or other. If you haven't already, take a look and see if the TPS itself is just stuck in the wrong position. I mention that because the voltage reading you are getting is somewhere around full throttle.

I was watching to scan gague while going from WOT to 0% during my "de bugging" drive and it would range from 3.25 to 4.XX. I also found another TPS that I just swapped on. The old one felt like it had rust in it. So its swapped over. Im going to go throw the scan gauge back on and go for another drive. YAY for reading vins at night to please the stupid scanner

Its now 4.65 at WOT. So thats back in the norm. However its stalling at stops, has a hesitation from stop to WOT and misses where ever it pleases. However, im starting to wonder if its all electrical as the SES turns on and off when ever it pleases also...... So tomorrow I will check grounds, add a strap or two and check the C500 and C203 connectors for possible corrosion while im playing with the car. Stay tuned.

Could the new harness have gotten loose or twisted or something? Did you look in the intake again? Maybe it's dirty again. Maybe there's a lot of blowby or something being recirculated through the crankcase ventilation system.

I hear tell the 1896 Fiero's had lots of problems...

By new harness you mean a new one or just dif old one? If the later, could be just corroded connectors making intermitant connections.
