88 GT V6: Start the car and runs fine, after about 5 mins the engine dies, like someone turned off the ignition switch. Will not restart. Wait about 15/20 min will start and run for about 2 mins. Try restarting and no luck. Came back the next day and started right up. Same issues after 5 mins. Changed Coil thiniking that coil winding serperating when warmed up and closes again when cool. Tried two different coils including brand new one. Same issue. changed out the Ignition Control Module twice and same issues. It is definitely ignition and not fuel. Have 42-44 psi at the rail. At wits end. Any Suggestions.

The ignition system runs only on power, the ignition coil, ICM, pick up coil, and the high voltage secondary side. If the tach dies when the ignition dies the problem is with the primary side.
I can come over and we can do some troubleshooting.

Small town, just a bump in the road, only one bar... I might have it figured out, talked to a friend who was a pontiac mechanic at Mackens. I am gonna check out his suggestion today and will let you know. Sounds promising.

Found the problem. It was the small pickup coil in the Distributor. Replace it and it runs fine now. I probably would have eventully found it but I have to thank Larry Sell who figured if it was not the ICM or the Coil them the next best culprit would be the pickup coil.
