I went from having interest in electric conversion to diesel. I keep finding a lot of decently priced Jetta's with turbo diesels. Esepcially ones with blown transmissions for some reason. My Fiero is already a 5-speed, can I bolt it up to one of these engines??? Should I still try to find a Jetta with a manual even if I don't use the transmission or does it not matter if I pick one thats an automatic also?

As usual, thanks guys.

It won't bolt up directly, no. But you can make an adapter plate. Depending on which engine you want to use, you may want to change the trans anyway, to get better ratios for getting more MPG out of the car.

Well what if I use the transmission from the Jetta, is that possible then (or what needs to be made for that to work?) as I'm assuming that transmission would be better than the Fiero.
