swapping in a 2.8 that I am stroking and doing other various performance mods to. what clutch should I get? If I turbo the v6 and am pushing 300 hp at some time, will a stage 2 clutch not hold up? I have heard nothing about spec's stage 1 clutch, only bad things about the stage 2 clutch, and I have heard the stage 3 clutch is like an on off switch. needs to be streetable with the stock amount of HP for now.
Thanks, Zach

Ok I am going to get a stage 2 spec clutch. I am buying it for the isuzu 5 speed but mated to a 2.8. should I buy the clutch for the 2.8 5 sp or for the 2.5 5 sp? Just not sure if the 2.5 5 sp clutch would bolt up to the 2.8 flywheel, but it would come with the throwout bearing I need for the isuzu. Thanks,
Zach

wait are you going to put the 300 hp v6 to the izusu? no that trans will grenade... anyway back on topic the clutch pressure plate and disk should fit the same. on either the 2.8 or 2.5 flywheels i think the only difference is the t/o bearing. i can double check tomorrow if you can wait that long. oh and remember that one of the jobs that the clutch has is to protect the transmission by slipping if too much torque is applied.

I can wait that long. Yea the isuzu is temporary till I can afford a getrag, and it is nowhere near 300 hp now but in the next few years hopefully will be. So when I spring for a getrag will I just have to order the correct TO bearing from spec?

yeah just double checked and the pressure plate will definitely fit the 4cyl flywheel. the clutch disk may have a overall different size but the splines and pressure plate mounting screws will match up. even with the stock v6 behind the isuzu drive very conservatively in 2nd gear and i would never recommend much spirited driving. the duke is even capable of breaking an isuzu.
