i changed the tach filter. thought i had it fixed . it worked fine in driveway. next day took it for a run....no tach. any ideas?? help me.

Sure. The plug at the back of the cluster isn't making full contact with the points that are likely corroded. Try it when your holding the plug in place (cluster removed)

You can reach the plug by just removing the back of the dash. 5 t15 torx screws from the top and two more from the bottom. A non-fully seated plug will do it.

I had a similar experience after adding tape and insulation to the tach filter wires. Next thing happens - no tach. The plug back there by the tach filter was all brittle. It essentially disintegrated. I attached a blade terminal for one wire then cut the other and used an inline splice instead. No problems since. Rodney Dickman has tach fillers for about thirty bucks.
