Hey all got a a call from the 2nd muffler shop i have taken my car to, exhaust won't fit WTF On an 1988 fiero gt 5 speed with 3800sc is exhaust different than other years? Is it because of the suspension? I have a Fastfiero's low mount alternator. Does that lessen room? Do people with 88's all cut the trunk? Now I have heard the Spintech muffler is smaller narrower anyone have a part number for what they have used?

Thanks All

I supplied the split-case spintech muffler to a local exhaust company and they did the rest. They didn't feel comfortable using a 3" downpipe, 2.5" was the biggest they would go. I'm pleased with the results.

I always cut the trunk when building the exhaust being there just isnt much room with it still in tact.....I not forsure if you can even build a exhuast with a Spintech without the trunk cut......

Easy to build a 3800 exhaust without cutting the trunk. I run a 3" downpipe to a flotech afterburner muffler w dual 2 1/2" outlets to Hedmann Hot Tips resonators. This stock muffler position was achieved w no cutting of anything. You just need to be a good plumber!

How much are you guys cutting out of the bottom of the trunk, or are you cutting the whole trunk out?
