Anybody know a sure way to tighten up or 'bush' the hinge on the visors? Mine won't stay up anymore, and I've hardly ever used them so I'm not sure why it's worn out.

Tightening the screw doesn't seem to help... what has everyone else done that I'm not thinking of?

pull the screw out, take the visor off, get some thin plastic or cardboard and put inside the visor opening... reassemble. I did this on a few visors.

I tried something along those lines, but I guess I didn't go thick enough. I'll give that another shot.

Thanks!

sometimes the metal shaft coming out of the 3 bolt section will loosen up check if its your visor spinning on this shaft or if the shaft itself is spinning if the shaft is spinning the method mentioned above will do nothing, one of mine was like this and I was able to fix it by squeezing a small amount of lock tight down where the shaft enters the 3 bolt section and letting it dry for a while, its held up so far I was mildly surprised how well it worked.

I had this same issue when I bought mine. The PO wedged a comb under the overhead light and used the end to hold up the visor -__-
There was also tape on the metal shaft which would spin freely in the bracket. As previously mentioned, if that is the case with yours then using something around the screw won't solve your issue. I got lucky and found a fiero in the junkyard so I just got a new metal bracket and all was well. I'd suggest going to a local junkyard and looking for one since I would assume GM used the same part for many cars and it should be an easy find. $2 will save you a lot of headaches involving tape and combs haha

Thanks for the ideas - I'll have to tackle it this weekend and see what's going on.

Sounds like it might have more than just a single problem...
