Did you check if your Fuel Pump Relay is getting the signal to trigger? You jump the fuel pump at the relay? Try just swapping relays with a known good relay?

Also for the shifting, you mean the clutch right? if it is not moving enough, you most likely have air in the system, and have to bleed it out. People have a lot of problems bleeding clutches, it can be a big pain if you do not have a pressure bleeder.

The 84 has a weird way to bleed it. You cant pump it, you gotta hold it.

Funny thing, my 86 Sprot had been sitting since 06' . I finally got it running last night, it's on Jack Stands so I decide to put it in gear. It wouldn't go. I checked the fluid. It was BLACK but it's all there. I got in and started pumping the clutch and it finally pumped up enough to shift perfectly. I don't know why it did it, but pumping helped in my case. Now before I start driving i will change the fluid and bleed it off again. But in a pinch, air in the lines will pump up temporarily

When you say it won't shift....is the shifter moving at all? up-down? left-right? If the cables are working properly, then the next thing would be internal, throw-out bearing maybe.
