Check valve has gone bad on line between the windshield washer pump aand the spray nozzles . Came apart in 2 pieces. Is this a necessary item or can I do without it?

Thanks, Nick (xlowes)

necessary, no.... but it does keep the fluid close to the nozzle, so it will not take as long to get the glass wet. Running your wipers on dry glass can scratch the glass.

It is also harder on the pump to have to get fluid through all that hose to the windsheild ever time you want to use it.

Edit to say this is a very cheap part at any auto parts store.

And likely damage from using plane water or some other fluid was able to freeze... Away use blue fluid w/ -20 freeze point... Fill in spring/summer but can last to winter time... Many tanks hold allot of fluid and its a pain to drain tank. pump not made for running to drain tank.

And will short life of pump.... Pump has to prime when the tank gets low.

I cheaped out on mine when it was broke and used Gorilla Glue to glue it back together, the one end was loose and the PO had wrapped it in electrical tape. Hasn't leaked in a year . . .

Mine broke on the SE and AZ didn't have a good replacement. KrazyGlued back together using the gel version. Works like a champ.

Threw mine out when that happened. Used a straight line connector to replace it. None if the parts stores even knew what it was. I'm not concerned about the windshield given the nice big crack I got this winter.

Sounds like another item for Rodney Dickman to add to his collection of Fiero replacement parts!!!

After removing, my last car would "spray" the windshield when cornering really hard.
