I'm working on suspension drawings for my build thread over in the construction zone and have come across conflicting information about the track width for stock '88 Fiero GTs/Formulas (Formulae? ). I'm trying to be as precise as possible so please no guesses, and no backyard measurements, just referenced data. The reason I ask is because the only two sources I've come across so far are contradictory:

Road & Track Oct 87: 1988 Track Width (F / R) = 59.7" / 60.4"

Gary Witzenburg Fiero - Pontiac's Potent Mid Engine Sports Car: '84 - '88 Track Width (F / R) = 57.8" / 58.7"

Where track width is defined as the distance between the center of the tire contact patches between the left and right tires.

Sorry, no documented info here, (free bump) but I have to beleive the Road and Track data is at least more accurate. With all the suspension changes for 88, the track width most likely was NOT the same from 84-88 as the other source states.

I could not find it in the 88 service manual but this may add something.

Well, I found the answer by drawing the wheels with their known tire sizes, wheel widths and offsets and sticking them onto my electronic drawings of the rear suspension. The answer just fell into my lap. For the '88's the rear wheel track is indeed approx 60.4" or more precisely 1538 mm (60.5") with P215/60R 15 on 15" x 7" (ET 30) wheels. I haven't calculated the front track but I'm guessing Road and Track was correct at 59.7"

Edit: Thanks ccfiero. I already had that drawing and although it didn't help for determining the track, it did help determine the rolling diameter of the tires.
