OK i just bough a Powerdyne Supercharger it seems to be in good working order zero play in the shafts and spins freely what to put it on I don't want a 3800 due to if i do a push rod engine i have a 4.3 Vortec with the good flowing heads . I appreciate any info you can give me on the supercharger and would like your thought on using 1 of the three engines and it is all going in a 87 GT with a 88 cradle

what model powerdyne supercharger is it ? i wouldnt put it on a 3800 either as the 3800 already has a supercharger option which is already available and doesnt require any fabrication the 3.4 DOHC is probably the easiest to wire up and mount while the N* requires the most fabwork wiring and tuning the shortstar would be just as much work as the N* but there would be a bit more space in the engine bay to run the supercharger plumbing im sure the supercharger can probably be mounted where the ac compressor is but you will need to custom fab a mounting bracket plus fab a new crank pulley for the supercharger belt unless you plan on running it off the serpentine belt which would probably not be wide enough the 4.3 Vortec would be just as easy or as hard as the other options and if you already have then engine than you should just use that one

not sure what model it is due to i cant find any thing on it they sanded it all off but i did open it up to see that there is a belt drive instead of gears and powerdyne is the only 1 who did that right ? and is there some thing i can measure to tell what model

Belt driven? All I can say to that is.... Good luck mounting that in a N*s engine bay. I have enough trouble removing my Alternator let alone mounting a supercharger in there. Maybe if its a roots style, but you make it seem like you have a centrifical.

well thanks that rules out the N* I thought there wasn't much room on the trunk side now you just confirmed it I am assuming you have a N* in your fiero or know some one with that engine

i have all of 4 northstars in my fiero and i think i could fit at least one more plus at least another supercharger in there i am assuming you are assuming that i have a fiero and have 4 northstars installed in there and think i could mount a supercharger in there i think i will use a chainsaw chain to drive mine instead of the belt because i dont think the belts were designed to flow enough air up top i cant wait to see if im right no wait i might install a 4.3 cause it has better head not a 3800 or a 3.4 dohc or a 3.5 shortstar or a tractor engine cause i think i have another sbc i can use if i can use the kit that was supplied because it is there i dont know though.
