Where does the injector get its signal from? What all is involved? My fuel pump is running and fuel is getting past the fuel filter but nothing is spraying from the injector. I know the tps threw a code some months hack. This issue just started instantly as I was slowing down to a stop, the car died. I heard it gets the signal from the ecu but where does the Ecuador get the sognal
The distributor module sends pulses to the ECM. When the ECM sees these pulses it runs the fuel injector. If it doesn't see the pulses, the injector won't activate.
Pull your distributor cap and see if the rotor turns when you crank the engine. If not, the cam gear (plastic) is stripped. Search archives for repair scenarios.
If rotor turns pull plug wire and stick a spare plug in the boot, then ground against the engine. Crank the engine, do you get spark? If not, likely the module is bad in the distributor, as well as the pickup coil or maybe the ignition coil. If you get spark, then the module is good though it's possible the connection from there to the ECM is bad or the ECM itself is bad.
When you turn the key to RUN do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple of seconds? If so, and you get spark, then something's bad between the ECM and module. If the pump doesn't run and you get spark, then the ECM may be bad. There's a basic ignition table built into the module that will fire the plugs even if the ECM is dead. When a properly functioning ECM see the pulses from the module as the engine is cranking the ECM commands the module to release spark authority to the ECM so that the ECM can vary the timing.

So try thiS. Key on and listen for the prime. It should. If it does that indicates the ECM is functioning. Then just bump the starter. If the ECM is getting ignition pulses the ECM will turn on the fuel pump again for 2 seconds. You should be able to repeat this test.
One more test you can preform is to unplug the injector and apply a 9 volt battery to it's terminals. It should click. And if the fuel pump is on, the injector should spray

Has been giving codes for ignition spark timing I think code 42 or 43 and also code 33 lean exhaust. Had spare parts and replaced them when the car died. Replaced ignition module, cap, rotor, and wires, still have new ignition coil and pickup coil along with spark plugs I have yet to replace.
Am posting from my phone on break. Full story / edit when I get off

If ECM can't see reference signal from ignition, ECM will not give injector signal....
42 mean ECM get bad reference... Bad module Bad signal wire. Bad ground(s). Bad module socket(s). Bad pick up coil.
See Cave... HE Ignition in general engine section

Sure enough I missed a plug when I plugged in the module. A second look in the daylight showed me. Now going to replace the pickup coil. What is the easiest way to do this?
Have to pull the distributor. The magnet disk is pressed onto the distributor shaft, if you pry it off it'll ruin the shaft assembly. New ones not available anymore.
Make marks before pulling distributor showing relative positions of rotor, housing, and block, keep in mind rotor turns as you pull distributor out because of helical gear engagement between distributor gear and cam gear.
