I figured I'd get some type of adhesive, some vice grips to hold it right until it dries, and WALLAH! But then I thought about it. I don't want a temporary fix. This car is 98% restored and I'm trying to get it to 100%.

I have used hot glue to fix my warped trim several years ago. Still holding up to temperature changes that are seen in the North West.

Cool! I guess I was going to do it right after all! On my way to Osh in an hour. Thanks.

I used a "heat gun to make it "More Plyable", then GOOP (stays flexible), then taped it in place till it dries. been years, has not let go yet.

I used a special 2-part super glue for plastics that you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. With that, you only have to hold things in place for about a minute, and then it's done. It works very well on Fiero center console parts.

I tried the DAP contact adhesive...eh, not exactly superior gripping strength. but, I did not do what i should have and that's use a heat gun to soften it up. I suspect that if you do it'll help out a LOT no matter what glue you use.

The hot glue/heat gun worked fine. I just didn't like the uneven gap it left, so I used some weather strip I had left from my sail window until I come up with a more perminent solution.

Someone on the Forum said Gorilla Glue. That has worked the best for me. But, Goop should do the job too, since it has held my Fiero front facia emblem on my custom grill for three years.

I have used both Gorilla Glue and Goop on different Fieros. I think the Goop is easier to not make a mess. I use binder clips to hold it in place while the glue dries. The Goop has been holding since 1997....the Gorilla Glue has been holding for about a year. If I need to do another, I will go back to the Goop.

What I can't seem to get right is gluing the facia piece back down. Haven't even tried it because I can't figure out how to clamp it and where I can get enough glue in there to really hold it without the glue seeping out and being visible. But...if everything is lining up right, the facia is held tight against the vinyl by the screws under the ashtrays.

Thanks. Now I know why my visor won't stay up and I can fix that easily.

Ditto, my wife keeps bitching about the sun visor hitting her in the face (and after letting her drive the car the other day now I understand her complaints). So, I guess I will spend the coming weekend working on the sun visors.

I also bought an upholstery stapler worked great on the center console. It also worked well on the back portion around the "glovebox", and also on the doorhandle/armrests. I tried a 1/4" crown and a 1/2" crown stapler on some old parts first, the results were not good. Paid about $90.00 for the upholstery stapler, good tool, handy to have around.

I used gorilla glue. I took paint stir sticks to spread the load and used clamps and vise grips to hold in place while drying. So far so good none of it has pulled away been about 8 months now. One thing to remember that with the gorilla glue it will try to expand some and it will come out from under the edges of your seams so be perpared to trim the excess with a razor blade once dried. Good luck with whatever way you use.

I'm going to reveal my little secret. This is the glue that I have been using for the last 10 years to restore Fiero interiors. The consloe below is the after restore picture. It was exactly like the one shown above on this thread. This stuff is the best. No need for clips or anything. Put it, hold it 5 seconds and move on. Trust me on this one.

Where can it be obtained?

I had the same problem right after I used super glue to fix mine. Had a small gap with varying thickness all the way around. I solved this by doing something atrocious. I put a bead of super glue underneath my 88 dot matrix bezel and pressed the surround up onto it all the way around until it held. Looks perfect now.
