I was told to use syncromesh. I have it in the transmission to my IMSA. I dont know what its like to use as i ahvent been able to drive the car yet but all i can say is if your transmission has leaks this stuff will fint it quick.
Syncromesh is the best choice, but a close runner-up (and cheaper) is 5W30 engine oil. That's what GM originally specified for the trannies.
5W30 will work okay until the winter temps kick in. Then you'll fight to shift between gears. I changed to synchromesh and it was like having a rebuilt tranny. Even in the teens F.

$5-7 and you don't change it like motor oil... last about 30-50,000 miles or more. Cheap insurance.
