I was informed that a 1985 V6 (not a swap) is called an SE.
I also heard that it is rare too...

I read somewhere that there were also 4cylnder SE's too...
How do you tell the difference between a regular 4cyl and an SE 4cyl?

If its easier for you, just give me a list of all the different models by year and thier main differences...

What is the difference between the Fiero and Fiero Sport?

What is the difference between the two se's? is it just different engines?

What is the difference between the V6's? the SE and GT?

Didn't the SE's get the "aero" nose? I know it doesn't automatically mean V6.

Fiero (more commonly just Coupe) was the base model, and wasn't available with options like an automatic transmission or air conditioning.

In 1985, yes

In 1985, the SE had the base bumperpad body, and the 85 GT had the aero body used on the 84 Indy Pace Car. Starting in 1986, SE's had the aero body with black ground effects, and GT's had the fastback.

According to Gary Witzenburg who wrote a book on the Fiero, the '85 model line up looked like this:

Fiero Coupe was the entry level car with the four cylinder engine and five speed Isuzu manual as the only available powertrain option. The only available wheels and tires were 185/80R/13's. You were also very limited in terms of what power accessory options were available as well.

Fiero Sport Coupe was essentially the same as the Coupe (4 cyl only) except that the world of options opened up to the buyer including an automatic transmission, Y-99 Special Rally package with 195/70R/14 tires, 14X6 Hi-Tech Turbo alloy wheels, revised suspension geometry, plus recalibrated shocks, springs, and bushings. You could also order up many power accessories as well.

The Fiero SE was also a four cylinder car, but you could also order up a V6 which came with a four speed Muncie, or an automatic. The four cylinder cars could also be ordered with either the five speed Isuzu or the automatic transmission. No matter which engine or transmission option you ordered, you could upgrade the suspension to the WS6 which included 215/60R/14 tires with the Hi-Tech Turbo alloy wheels, and retuned springs etc. Most, if not all the power accessories were available to choose from at this level. No matter which engine you ordered, the '85 SE had the bumper pad nose and rear fascia. You could not order the rear wing either.

The '85 GT came standard with the V6 and your choice of four speed Muncie or automatic, WS6 suspension, aero nose, side rocker skirts, and smooth rear fascia, although the rear wing was optional. All '85 GT's were notchbacks. All power accessory options were available and many were standard on the GT's.

All models in the line up got the 21.7:1 steering rack ratio, except the GT which got the 19.2:1 faster ratio. Also, all V6 models came with new instrument graphics.

For a complete understanding of the options, you'd need to get ahold of a sales brochure from '85. I'm pretty sure someone here on PFF could scan one in for you.

What's so confusing? There are four models that were available in 1985 and each one offered more options than the previous one. You're not going to find anyone who is going to give you "comprehensive info over all the years" since there are literally hundreds of combinations and permutations for each year. As I said before, the closest you'll get to having all the info at your fingertips is if you can muster up a copy of the sales brochures for each year. There's a table at the back of each one that lists all the standard features for each model in that year, plus all the options. You'll need two different brochures for 1986 though, because they changed the line-up halfway through the year with the introduction of the fastback. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. This is the table from the brochure for the first half of 1986:

Notice the fine print at the top that says "Ask your dealer about group packages and many other features not indicated below".
